birth stat elephants made with htv on cricut maker for baby keepsake

Best (and EASIEST) New Baby Gift: Birth Stat Elephant!

We were looking for the perfect birth stats gift for our friend and her new baby girl…and we came across the PERFECT design by Sydney at tastefullyfrugal.org (she is amazing…check out her site!). She has made the design easy to access with a link on her page that goes straight to the canvas in Cricut Design Space!

Here’s how what we used and how we made the gift in 30 minutes!

What you need to make a Birth stat elephant!

We searched for the perfect stuffed animal that would have a big enough “canvas” to place the stats onto! We happened to find the exact elephant that Sydney used…before we even found her design…it worked out perfectly.

On Amazon, this was the elephant option that we chose… there are a few colours to choose from as well!

We used scraps from our iron-on collection (thank you Cricut for the #cricutscrapschallege for the inspiration!).

And of course….Jo’s Cricut Maker

Cut and weed the design!

To get to Sydney’s design, we clicked on the link and it took us straight into Design Space, with it ready to go on the Canvas! (Scroll down her page to get to the Design Space link).

It’s really easy to edit and customize the birth stats and name.

To make it a bit easier for us, we welded together her design after we customized it.

Because the ears are relatively small when it comes to material usage, we were able to use leftover scraps from other projects!

Once we cut the design, it was time to weed.

CRICUT HACK ALERT! Since we don’t have the Brightpad yet, we used Jo’s Crayola tracing pad….wooo!

Putting it all together!

After weeding the design, we made a tag team production line of putting the HTV on the ears, and then using our EasyPress Mini to set it on the ears!

The EasyPress Mini was perfect for this…an odd shaped ear, and a small surface made it a bit difficult for the larger EasyPress. (Although I do think with a bit of perseverance it can be done!)

Since we were making two elephants, we didn’t want to mix up the stats!!! (OMG-can you imagine?! luckily there is a technique to remove HTV).

The final product!

We were SOOOOO thrilled with how these turned out!!! Sydney’s design was absolutely perfect and so easy to use. Thanks Sydney!!!

The elephants are adorable and make a great pair for the sisters.

Since the elephants were so easy to get on Amazon, and the shipping was fast with Prime, we definitely are going to make some for our own kiddies (even though they are waaaay past the newborn stage hahaha!)

This was such a fun project and took about 25 minutes from start to finish. The final product is beautiful and fun….and something that the kids will enjoy for years to come!

Thank you, Sydney, for the amazing and easy design!!!!
